Andrea Lamberti AIA LEED AP BD+C

Partner

Andrea Lamberti joined Rafael Viñoly Architects in 1997 and became a partner in 2009. Over the course of her tenure at the firm, she has been involved in every aspect of practice, from project conceptualization to project delivery, strategic planning and outreach, and marketing and business development.

Through her project work, Andrea has worked with national and international educational, cultural, research, and healthcare clients to transform their organizations through projects that expand the public realm and that optimize programmatic, social and environmental aspirations, within budget and schedule parameters.

Completed projects Andrea led include the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, and the Van Andel Institute for Medical Education and Research in Grand Rapids, Michigan, both of which achieved LEED Platinum certification. Additionally, she coordinated the competition-winning entry for the Porter Neuroscience Research Center at the National Institutes of Health and subsequently served as Project Manager for Phase I of the project, relocating to the Washington, D.C. area for it.

Andrea has also developed and directed programs, master plans and designs for cultural, educational and research facilities for organizations such as the University of Arizona Science Center, the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University, and New York University Abu Dhabi’s new campus. She has performed similar efforts on behalf of research, academic, and healthcare institutions in the United States and Europe.

Andrea speaks publicly in diverse professional forums, locally, nationally, and internationally. From translating project requirements for the firm’s designs and ensuring design concepts are communicated effectively to facilitate consensus, to sharing the firm’s best practices and lessons learned, and to building a more welcoming, diverse, and empowered professional community, she has spoken publicly on four continents since 2010.

Leading with a theme of “Just Practice,” Andrea served as the 2022 President of the Board of the American Institute of Architects New York (AIANY) and has supported her professional community members in their pursuit of more inclusive, welcoming, fair, and just environments and professional practices. She pursues similar initiatives through membership within the AIA New York State board and the Stony Brook University Department of Civil Engineering Advisory Board.
