Sustainable Lab Design: Penn State Millenium Science Complex LEED Gold Certified

The Millennium Science Complex, a 291,500 square-foot research facility on the Pennsylvania State University’s University Park campus, has achieved LEED Gold certification, in keeping with Penn State’s push for ecologically sustainable development on campus.

The building, which integrates the department of life sciences and the department of materials science and engineering into a single facility aimed at fostering synergy among the researchers, features an innovative structural solution designed to isolate vibration from materials science researchers and a comprehensive sustainable design approach that is achieving sustainable design and resource conservation goals.
